Presented at the Corunna Innovate Summit, organized by Data Spartan at the Centro de Servizos Avanzados (CSA) of the Cidade das TIC in A Coruña (October 26–27, 2023).
The talk explored how AI and computer vision act as “digital alchemists” — transforming raw image feeds into structured, actionable data for sports broadcasting. Drawing from my work at Cinfo on the Tiivii platform, the talk covered:
- The challenge of real-time processing constraints in live broadcast production
- How deep learning models classify game situations, track players, and automate camera decisions
- The gap between research benchmarks and production-grade performance requirements
- Practical lessons from deploying CUDA/TensorRT-optimized models at 25+ FPS
The event gathered AI researchers, engineers, and practitioners from across Galicia and featured speakers from Telefónica, Argilla, and the Centro de Supercomputación de Galicia.
