As co-founder of HackUDC 2023, I helped establish Galicia’s first university hackathon from concept to reality. My responsibilities included venue coordination, sponsor acquisition, and participant recruitment. We created a unique competition format combining technical challenges with social impact projects, fostering innovation among local students.
This foundational experience taught me valuable lessons in startup-style event creation, budget management, and cross-functional team leadership. The success of this first edition laid the groundwork for the hackathon’s subsequent growth.
