First edition attended — one of Spain's largest student hackathons, hosted at UPC in Barcelona.

HackUPC is one of the largest student hackathons in Spain, organized annually by the students of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona.

My first attendance in 2022 offered a window into how a major student-run hackathon operates at scale. We shipped StarBars — an open-source Android app that computes a fair midpoint from everyone’s location and recommends nearby bars — an experience that later informed my work co-founding and organizing HackUDC in A Coruña.
